However, the internal combustion engine generates higher cost, so the diesel generator set is mainly used as an emergency backup power source, or used in mobile power stations and some areas where large power grids have not yet arrived. The speed of diesel generators is usually below 1000 rpm, and the capacity is between several kilowatts and several thousand kilowatts, especially for units with less than 200 kilowatts. It is relatively simple to manufacture. The torque output on the shaft of the diesel engine is periodically pulsating, so the generator operates under severe vibration conditions. Therefore, the structural components of the diesel generator, especially the rotating shaft, must have sufficient strength and rigidity to prevent these components from breaking due to vibration. In addition, in order to prevent the generator from rotating the angular velocity unevenly due to torque ripple, causing voltage fluctuations and causing the light to flicker, the rotor of the diesel generator also requires a large moment of inertia, and the inherent torsional vibration frequency of the shafting system should be The frequency of any alternating component of the torque ripple of the diesel engine differs by more than 20%, so as to avoid resonance and cause a shaft breakage accident.
The diesel generator set is mainly composed of a diesel engine, a generator and a control system. The diesel engine and the generator have two connection modes. One is a flexible connection, that is, the two parts are butt jointed by a coupling, and the other is a rigid connection, which is made of high-strength bolts. The generator steel connecting piece is connected with the diesel flywheel. At present, there are more rigid connections. The diesel engine and the generator are connected and installed on the common chassis, and then equipped with various sensors, such as water temperature sensors, through these sensors. Display the operating status of the diesel engine to the operator, and with these sensors, an upper limit can be set. When the limit value is reached or exceeded, the control system will alarm in advance. If the operator does not take measures, the control system will The unit is automatically stopped, and the diesel generator set is self-protective in this way. The sensor functions to receive and feed back various information. The actual display of these data and the implementation of the protection function is the control system of the unit itself.
