BMW pushes intelligent charging pile

BMW has officially launched a "i Wallbox Pro" charging pile with many smart features that will be offered to BMW i-series models for charging. It is understood that this charging pile will charge faster than the previous "i Wallbox Pure" charging pile.

i Wallbox Pro, like the existing i Wallbox Pure, can charge i3 and i8 models. The difference is that i Wallbox Pro has more output power up to 7.4kW, which means faster charging, and the charger is also equipped with A 7-inch touch screen to provide more feedback and interactive control.

i Wallbox Pro is equipped with a motion sensor. When the driver approaches, the charger screen is automatically activated. The screen can show current charging status, including how much power is output, remaining charging time, and household power supply information. In addition, the user can also get travel information such as the weather of the day from the screen.

In order to facilitate the use of different vehicles and users, the charger can record 3 personal configurations. Through the data collected by these personal configurations, users can track different charging situations when they go to work or go out on the go. In addition, i Wallbox Pro can also intelligently switch power sources and automatically select cleaner power sources to prioritize charging. For example, when the charger detects both the conventional power grid and the home solar panel power supply line, i Wallbox Pro will preferentially use the solar panel power supply line to charge the vehicle.
