Exports of US$23.6 billion from January to July 2010

According to customs statistics, from January to July 2010, China’s ship import and export volume was US$24.77 billion, an increase of 48.11% year-on-year. Among them, the ship’s exports amounted to US$23.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 55.95%, which was US$1.6 billion more than the export volume in the first 10 months of last year; the ship’s imports amounted to US$1.17 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 26.44%.

From a single monthly point of view, the value of ship exports in July hit its highest monthly record since the beginning of the year, at US$4.22 billion, an increase of 113.55% year-on-year. Ship imports amounted to US$130 million, a decrease of US$240 million from the previous quarter and a year-on-year decrease of 84.6%.

From January to July, there were 21 types of ships whose export amount was more than US$100 million. The total exports of the three main ship types totaled 18.89 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 80% of the total export volume, an increase of 79.39% year-on-year. In particular, bulk carriers accounted for half of the total exports, and the export value was US$11.91 billion, accounting for 50.43% of the total exports, an increase of more than 220% year-on-year. From the perspective of specific types of ships, there are 6 categories with exports exceeding US$1 billion: the export volume of bulk carriers of 150,000 tons or less is US$8.91 billion, an increase of 202.76% over the same period of last year; the export volume of bulk cargo ships of 150,000 to 300,000 tons is 30. Billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 223.67% year-on-year; exports of container ships below 6000 TEU were 2.85 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 61.87% year-on-year; exports of 150,000 to 300,000 tons of crude oil vessels were 1.71 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 60.15%; oil product vessels of 100,000 tons or less. Exports amounted to US$1.22 billion, a decrease of 37.13% year-on-year; motor-driven multi-purpose vessels exported US$1.05 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%.

In the first 7 months, China exported a total of 153 countries and regions to the country, with 23 of them exporting at more than US$100 million and five having US$1 billion or more. Among them, the amount of ships exported to Hong Kong was US$4.94 billion, up 106.57% year-on-year; the amount of ships exported to Singapore was US$2.66 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 13.24%; the amount of ships exported to Liberia was US$2.18 billion, an increase of 307.14 year-on-year. %; Ships exported to Germany amounted to US$2.04 billion, an increase of 99.74% year-on-year; Ships exported to Panama amounted to US$1.98 billion, a year-on-year increase of 377.15%. Asia and Europe are the major markets for China’s ship exports, and the amount of ships exported to them is US$ 10.23 billion and US$ 6.86 billion, respectively, a year-on-year increase of 29.85% and 48.34%, respectively.

Among the major shipping export provinces and cities, 12 have exported more than 100 million U.S. dollars and 8 have more than 1 billion U.S. dollars. Zhejiang ranked first in the nation's shipping export provinces and cities, with exports amounting to US$4.87 billion, an increase of 133.59% year-on-year; ranking second was Jiangsu Province, with US$4.85 billion in exports, which was a year-on-year increase of 44.34%; ranking third. From January to July, there are 10 types of vessels imported by China that exceed 10 million U.S. dollars and 3 types that exceed 100 million U.S. dollars. Ships for dismantling and other floating structures ranked first, with imports valued at US$505 million, an increase of 26.66% year-on-year; ranking second with bulkers of less than 150,000 tons, with import value of US$210 million. The drop was 31.12%; the dredger was ranked third, with import value of US$107 million, a year-on-year increase of 1337.66%. China has imported ships from 40 countries and regions, and 14 of them have imported more than US$10 million. Among them, the amount of ships imported from Japan ranked first, which was US$570 million, which was a decrease of 4.03% compared to the same period of the previous year; the amount of ships imported from South Korea ranked second, which was US$130 million, an increase of 19.83% compared to the same period of last year; ships were imported from Germany. The amount was ranked third, at US$95.56 million, an increase of 570.21% year-on-year.
