Car air quality standards are implemented from March
The “Guidance on Air Quality Assessment for Passenger Cars†GB/T27630-2011 (hereinafter referred to as the “Guidelineâ€), which has been implemented since March 1, is expected to solve automotive consumers’ concerns about air quality of cars. These standards are applicable not only to new vehicles but also to their use. The car in the car can also refer to it. Insiders pointed out that the "Guide" is China's first air quality standard for cars, which fills in the gaps in China's air quality standards for cars, making the air testing in cars finally possible.
In this "Guide", the limits of eight common concentrations of volatile organic compounds in the air in cars are clearly defined: benzene, toluene, xylene, ethylbenzene, styrene, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein. It is worth noting that the "Guide" is only a recommended national standard, not mandatory.
As one of the drafters of this standard, Professor Ge Yunshan, a professor at the Institute of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology and director of the National Laboratory of Automotive Power and Emissions Testing, said, “These pollutions are mostly from the interior of vehicles such as seats, dashboards, and grounds. Adhesives, seals, etc., or thinners, glue paints and coatings needed for the production of vehicles."
It is understood that there are three main sources of air pollution in the vehicle. One is the various accessories in the car from the new car; the second is the materials for automotive interior parts, mainly plastics, fiber textiles, leather, rubber, etc. Four major categories of materials; third is the use of solvent-based paints, thinners and adhesive glue paints and coatings used in production.
