Foreign parts suppliers have rushed to Japan's auto industry
Recently, foreign parts suppliers have flooded Japan with record numbers, and continue to tap the country’s car industry with great potential. German companies have performed outstandingly in this trend.
According to the latest figures released by Japan’s Foreign Trade Organization, in the first 10 months of 2007, 11 foreign companies related to automobiles have established sales outlets in Japan.
In the past five years, a total of 29 foreign suppliers have entered Japan, of which German companies have a majority, and there are 12 related agencies. Followed by US companies, there are 7; in the United Kingdom there are 3; in India it is 2. Ten of these 29 suppliers have set up offices in Aichi Prefecture, and Aichi Prefecture is home to Toyota's headquarters and important suppliers such as Denso. There are also 10 companies that set up Japanese agencies in Kanagawa Prefecture, which is closely related to Nissan.
The rapid flow of foreign suppliers into Japan has resulted from the willingness of Japanese car manufacturers to cooperate with them. At the same time, foreign suppliers are also expected to maintain their competitiveness in order to conduct more trade with Japanese companies and expand their overseas production capacity.
