· Light commercial vehicles will officially implement the new national standard fuel consumption by 20% in 2018
On the 21st, the National Standards Committee issued a notice to officially approve the issuance of the newly revised mandatory national standard for the “Light Commercial Vehicle Fuel Consumption Limitâ€. The new standard will be enforced on January 1, 2018, when the fuel consumption of light commercial vehicles will be reduced by about 20%.
The standard sets 64 fuel consumption limits for different types of light commercial vehicles fueled by gasoline and diesel. Among them, the fuel consumption of gasoline vehicles of light trucks is at least 5.5 liters/100 kilometers, the fuel consumption limit of diesel vehicles is at least 5 liters/100 kilometers, and the light vehicles with maximum design total mass not exceeding 3,500 kilograms are fueled by gasoline vehicles. The minimum consumption limit is 5 liters/100 km, and the minimum fuel consumption limit for diesel vehicles is 4.7 liters/100 km.
In 2007, China’s first release of the National Standard for Light Commercial Vehicle Fuel Consumption Limits has played a significant role in promoting the technological progress of China’s light commercial vehicles and guiding the upgrading of industrial structure. Compared with the new and old standards, the reporter found that the fuel consumption of light-duty truck gasoline, diesel and light-duty petrol and diesel vehicles has been tightened by 23%, 27%, 18% and 18% respectively compared with the 2007 national standard.
According to statistics, the annual output of light commercial vehicles in China is about 2 million, and the total fuel consumption per year is about 7 million tons. Under such a huge number, it will bring about no small energy saving and emission reduction benefits.
"The release and implementation of this new standard will be expected to achieve the goal of reducing the fuel consumption of new 2020 young commercial vehicles by at least 20% in 2012." The person in charge explained that the new national standard has increased the fuel consumption. It is more meaningful to implement the national energy conservation and emission reduction work requirements, improve the energy-saving technology level of China's light commercial vehicles, and improve China's automobile energy-saving standards system.
