Major special ACF circuit breaker characteristics and technical standards have been examined and accepted

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] On November 28th, China Southern Power Grid Corporation's major special project “Research on AC Filter Circuit Breaker Insulation Characteristics and Technical Standards of HVDC Transmission System” passed the acceptance review of the company’s organization.
The project completed the analysis of the actual conditions of ACF circuit breaker operating conditions, external insulation pollution status, and meteorological conditions. It established for the first time a number of manufacturers' simulation models to quantitatively analyze the insulation characteristics of the circuit breaker and verified it through physical prototype testing. The steady-state and dynamic insulation characteristics of ACF circuit breakers and the distribution coefficient of voltage at fractures under different working conditions are proposed. The design basis for improving, perfecting, improving the insulation performance and breaking performance of ACF circuit breakers is proposed, which provides powerful technical support for improving the operational reliability of ACF circuit breakers and for the purpose of formulating ACF circuit breakers under special conditions of breaking AC filters. The type and selection test standards provide the test basis. Based on the research results, the improvement measures for ACF circuit breakers are feasible and feasible, which can prevent recurrence of similar insulation faults in the operating system and the planned construction system. This is of great significance.
Experts at the meeting considered that the project has conducted in-depth studies on the insulation characteristics of ACF circuit breakers under different operating conditions, and completed the study of three-dimensional electromagnetic simulation of arc extinguishers, multi-physics coupling simulation and prototype testing under specific conditions, and proposed ACF. Circuit breaker anti-accident measures, safe operation techniques and maintenance strategies, provide guidance recommendations for ACF circuit breaker equipment design, selection, operation and maintenance, etc., overcome many technical problems, and form a number of innovative highlights.
This special project was jointly developed by the company's super-high pressure company and South Net Research Institute and was divided into seven sub-topics. Among them, Nanwang Scientific Research Institute has completed four sub-topics, and UHV has completed three sub-topics. The outsourcing unit is South China University of Technology and Xi'an. Jiaotong University, Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute, Xi'an High Voltage Switchgear. The above-mentioned research teams inside and outside the network gave full play to their respective technical characteristics and advantages and worked closely together. They successfully completed all tasks of the project within one year.
