The first fixed-bed MTP device in China drives
China Drying News reported that the 5,000-ton/year methanol-propylene (MTP) industrial side-track test rig of Yangzi Petrochemical's olefins plant had been successfully driven last week to produce qualified propylene products. This is the first set of production equipment using China's autonomous fixed-bed MTP technology. Its operation has opened up a new process route for the production of propylene from coal by gasification, which has changed the existing product structure in the coal chemical industry and is of great strategic importance. .
Although there are currently many sets of methanol-to-olefin plants built and put into production, most of them use the MTO process, that is, methanol to olefins (ethylene, propylene, and other light olefins products). MTP process for methanol to propylene is mainly controlled by foreign companies. The completion of the device has accumulated data and practical experience for the construction and operation of large-scale MTP industrial devices in the future, and it also provides reference for traditional petrochemical enterprises to implement differentiated strategies.
Yangzi Petrochemical's 5,000-ton/year methanol-to-propylene plant uses the patented fixed-bed MTP technology independently developed by Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute. The main feature of this process is to use methanol as a chemical raw material, replacing some of the imported oil to produce a single propylene product. The process is conducive to the downstream production of polypropylene to a world-class scale and to enhance the competitiveness of polypropylene devices. The MTP plant built by Yangzi Petrochemical fully relies on the company's existing ethylene plant, which has good matching, low investment and short construction period.
The device was designed by Shanghai Engineering Co., Ltd. and was constructed by the Fifth Construction Company of Sinopec. Construction began in October last year and it was handed in on November 9 this year. After the project was handed over, the olefin plant of Yangzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. took a close look at the rectification of the tail items and commissioned the electrical and instrumentation. In order to ensure safe and smooth driving, the ethylene plant of the olefin plant has formulated various types of process plans and open and stop plans in detail. At the same time, it has produced a series of technical operating procedures to ensure smooth driving.
According to reports, the MTP process is a production process that converts methanol into propylene. The traditional propylene production mainly uses the petroleum-based propylene process route, which uses ethylene to produce propylene and the refinery produces by-product propylene. In recent years, with the rapid development of the world economy, the demand for propylene has grown significantly faster than ethylene. At the same time, ethylene plants around the world have increased the proportion of light raw materials such as ethane, and propylene production capacity has increased less, resulting in a further shortage of propylene supply. At present, the size of methanol plants using coal-based natural gas as raw materials in China tends to be large-scale, domestic methanol production capacity is seriously over-abundance, and methanol-to-olefin technology finds a new way out for methanol.
CMC can form a sheet which is firm, strong with a certain soft and wear resistant, and make itself stick well with the fiber surface. In addition, it gives the chaine sufficient elongation characteristics, increases the textile strength in the process of manufacturing, enhances the production efficiency and takes thickening effect as well. It can be widely applied in the textile industry such as warp sizing, textile printing and fabric finishing etc.
