Faced with the increasingly fierce competition in the market, the Institute closely follows the economic development needs of Wuhan City. In the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, a total of more than RMB 10 million was invested to build or improve social public measurement standards.

Focusing on the measurement of people's livelihood and energy measurement, the Institute fully carried out verifications on the fixed speed systems, radar speedometers, and exhaled alcohol content detectors of the traffic control department; new ventilator detection devices and non-invasive automatic measurement blood pressure monitors. Calibration devices, medical syringe pumps and infusion pump calibration devices, spiral CT verification devices, medical MRI calibration devices, etc., have effectively expanded service capabilities in the field of medical metrology; large-flow gas standard devices, large-flow site The detection device provides technical support for energy saving and consumption reduction.

Jacks are widely used in the measurement of high-rise buildings, bridges and other engineering measurement instruments, and their quality is directly related to the quality of the project. For a long time, the domestic use of fixed jack verification device can only be tested in the laboratory jack. However, due to the heavy weight and inconvenience of the loading and unloading of the jacks, together with the need to transport the inspection units back and forth, it has caused difficulties in the inspection of jacks.

In order to meet the needs of the project construction, the institute’s technical staff developed its own 500-ton jack site verification device. They installed the main auxiliary equipment of the verification equipment, the reaction force test rig, on a small truck. Under the premise of ensuring accurate measurement, they successfully solved the problem of fixing and balancing the reaction force test rig.

The development of the jack verification working platform has changed the 500-ton jack from the past laboratory testing to the on-site inspection. Only this year, the personnel of the institute carried out the “send inspections into the construction site” activities, and on-site verified more than 400 sets of jacks, which created good social and economic benefits.

On the morning of August 8, 2008, on the eve of the opening of the Olympic Games, the taxi program for the taxi meter chip produced by Shanghai Liangbiao Intelligent Terminal Co., Ltd. had a lock-up failure, resulting in the suspension of more than two thousand taxis in Wuhan. After receiving the report, the technical personnel of the Taximeter Verification Center of the Taxi Company took prompt actions and organized emergency repairs overnight. They used technical means to promptly crack down on the failure of the meter lock program, and after several hours of fighting, the taxis were all resumed normal operations. This timely handling of emergencies was fully affirmed by the AQSIQ and the municipal government and won praise from all walks of life.
