Bosch Automotive invests RMB 700 million in R&D center and factory in Changsha

The new technology center and new plant of Bosch Automotive Components (Changsha) Co., Ltd. officially opened on December 12, 2012. With a total investment of 700 million yuan, it aims to serve the development and production of generators, air conditioning and engine cooling systems , wiper systems and small motor systems.

It is understood that the new factory covers an area of ​​12,760 square meters, and the total number of employees of Bosch Automotive Components (Changsha) Co., Ltd. will exceed 5,000, and the production capacity will approximately double. As one of the German Bosch global R&D bases, the new R&D center will accommodate 350 local R&D personnel for R&D innovations in global and local markets.

"The new plant will be highly synergistic with the new R&D center, which will greatly shorten the market cycle of local R&D and meet the growing demand of domestic customers for localized products." Bosch Electronic Drives, Asia Pacific President, Bosch Automotive Components (Changsha) Su Fandu, general manager of the company, said.

In addition, the new R&D center will also conduct research and development on Bosch's electronic drive technology and, through collaboration with the Shanghai R&D team, develop electronic drive products that are more suitable for the local market. In the next five years, the center’s R&D personnel and investment in experimental equipment will continue to increase by more than double digits.
