GTT and Amarcon cooperate with LNG ship anti-sway technology
LONDON, UK, October 11 news: Amarcon, a subsidiary of the ABB Group, announced that it has signed a joint venture with GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz) to develop a forecasting and consulting software system for LNG carriers.
Founded in 1994 in France, GTT was founded by a combination of LNG membrane containment systems company Gaztransport and SNTechnigaz, both of which have a history of more than 80 years. GTT provides the design and licensing of professional low temperature LNG storage tanks for the shipbuilding industry.
In the next few years, the demand for long-distance LNG transportation will increase significantly. It is imperative to operate LNG carriers safely. LNG tanks need safe environmental conditions, and LNG ships also need to optimize operational reliability. GTT and Amarcon will collaborate on R&D and marketing of tools and services to ensure that LNG carrier operators using the GTT containment system are able to effectively prevent sloshing and ensure operational safety. The new system will collect data on operational processes, control and adjust sloshing measures and pre-judgments.
