Supercars such as McLaren and Morgan's custom models will be re-tested to ensure compliance with emissions standards after driving to 160,000 km. Since the average annual travel of niche models such as super-running is not 5,000 kilometers, the test exemption is obtained. But the new regulations put these models into the test range, and as part of its clean air bill, the bill aims to reduce air pollution.

A McLaren spokesman said the retest would delay the delivery of the first batch of 720S for about two months. The car was originally scheduled to be delivered later this summer. In addition, the new regulations will not have other impact on the model, because the vehicle indicators are in compliance with the law.

Morgan has three custom models to discontinue delivery and will be retested. Morgan said that the delayed delivery of the model meant that the company "missed the opportunity to enter the market in the second and third quarters."

The British niche sports car manufacturer said that changes in regulations will not affect it. Company director Simon Sanders told Autocar: “All new cars will be designed to be more compliant with approval and legislative standards.” The brand is also looking for alternative technologies to power its models to ensure they “meet any minimum requirements, To demonstrate the determination of niche brands to reduce vehicle emissions."

At the same time, car manufacturers and traders' associations representing British brands require Chinese regulators to develop regulations that are closer to Europe and the United States. In these areas, these models are allowed to bypass the most stringent emission limits due to the relatively small number of super-runs and custom models and limited mileage.
