Fairbanks Morse will supply diesel engines to the US Coast Guard

It is reported that in 2021, the first batch of new coastal patrol boats of the US Coast Guard will be powered by Fairbanks Morse's diesel engines made in the United States.

The coast patrol boats will "build a critical capacity bridge" between the national security patrol boat patrolling the high seas and the fast-responding patrol boat patrolling the coast. These coastal patrol boats will operate independently or form a mission to undertake search and rescue, law enforcement, homeland security and defense missions.
According to Fairbanks Morse, each 360-foot long coast patrol boat will be equipped with two FM-MAN 16V 28/33D diesel engines, with a single power of 9,763 bhp at a speed of 1,000 rpm. Approved engine design with long-term and successful application records.
The Eastern Shipbuilding in Panama City, Florida will build the new coast patrol boat, which will build a total of eight. In the end, the US Coast Guard plans to order 25 coastal patrol boats to replace its aging patrol boats.
