Ministry of Commerce: Continue to Implement Anti-dumping on Japan-Korea Optical Fiber
The Ministry of Commerce of China stated on Friday that starting from January 1, 2011, it will continue to impose anti-dumping measures on imported fiber from Japan and Korea, with an implementation period of five years.
The Ministry of Commerce stated that on January 1, 2005, it had announced for the first time anti-dumping measures against imported non-dispersive-displaced single-mode optical fibers originating in Japan, South Korea, and the United States.
The Ministry of Commerce did not elaborate on the details of the anti-dumping measures and how it will be handled for the products originating in the United States. However, the Ministry of Commerce stated that if the original anti-dumping measures are terminated, the dumping of Chinese non-dispersion-shifted single-mode optical fibers originating in Japan and South Korea and damage to the Chinese industry may continue to occur.
