1. According to the quality requirements of the project:
1) If you want to obtain a uniform compaction density, you can use a tire roller. The tire roller does not damage the original viscosity of the soil during rolling. The soil in each layer has good bonding performance. The front wheel can be oscillated, so the compaction is more uniform and there will be no false compaction.
2) If you want to make the road surface compact, you can use a full-drive roller.
For areas where the compaction capacity of the roller is not critical, a compact roller with a low line pressure can be used.
To achieve compaction as quickly as possible, a large tonnage roller can be used to shorten the construction period.
2, according to the thickness of the layer selection:
1) When crushing asphalt concrete pavement, the weight, amplitude and vibration frequency of the roller should be selected according to the paving thickness of the mixture. Generally, on a thin layer with a thickness of less than 60 mm, it is preferable to use a 2~6t small vibratory roller with an amplitude of 0.35~0.60mm, so as to avoid the phenomenon of stacking, undulating and damaging aggregates;
2) At the same time, in order to prevent the asphalt mixture from being too cold, it should be rolled immediately after paving. For thick layers with a thickness greater than 100 mm, large and medium vibratory rollers with high amplitude (up to 1.0 mm) and 6 to 10 t should be used.
3. Select according to the type of road (grade):
1) For the first- and second-level national trunk roads and special roads for vehicles, 6~10t large-scale vibratory roller with high compaction capacity should be used; for highways below grade 3, or when compaction operations are not frequent, It is equipped with a flexible and flexible vibratory roller of about 2t.
2) For cement concrete pavement, a tire-driven series vibratory roller can be used;
3) For asphalt concrete pavement, a fully driven vibratory roller should be used;
4) For the bottom layer of the advanced pavement roadbed, it is best to use a tire roller or a tire-driven vibratory roller for compaction to obtain uniform compactness;
5) When using the road surface, you can use the static force type light wheel roller.
4. According to the type of material being pressed:
1) For the compaction of rock fills, large-tonnage road rollers should be used in order to displace large blocks;
2) For the compaction of clay, it is best to use a bump compaction roller;
3) For the compaction of the mixture, it is better to select a vibratory roller to make the size of the pellets uniform;
4), the deep lamination should be slowly rolled with a heavy-duty vibratory roller, and the shallow layer should be a static-acting roller.
