The increase mainly depends on the tractor pulling
The 24% year-on-year increase in May was the second highest monthly increase in the first half of this year, and it was also the fourth consecutive month of positive growth in the heavy truck market. In February of this year, the year-on-year growth rate of the heavy truck market was 26.83%; in March it was 10.42%; in April it was 17.34%, and the growth in May was 24%, which surprised many people.

The first commercial vehicle network analysis believes that the reasons for growth are nothing more than two aspects. The first is policy disturbance. This author has previously talked about the full implementation of the diesel engine four emission standards on January 1, 2015, which led to a certain degree of advance purchase in the fourth quarter of 2014, which lowered the sales of heavy trucks in 2015. This in turn led to a low sales base in the first half of 2015, which laid the foundation for the growth in the first half of 2016.
Second, the growth mainly relies on the pulling of logistics vehicles, especially tractors, and the engineering vehicles have not improved much. In addition to the first reason mentioned above, the growth of tractors is also the first time in the first half of the year, domestic consumption growth is not bad (fixed asset investment is still low), which has led to the upgrading of logistics vehicles; plus the large horsepower tractors above 400 horsepower are popular. To a certain extent, it has driven the tide of changing cars for old users.
In total, from January to May this year, the cumulative sales of the heavy truck market was 280,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 14%. The cumulative growth rate was further expanded (11.8% in January-April) and the net growth was 34,900 units. If sales in June increased by 13% year-on-year to 57,000 units, the cumulative net increase in the heavy-duty truck market in the first half of the year could reach 40,000, an increase of 14% year-on-year!

Liberation for the first time in five consecutive months
Specifically, FAW Jiefang continued to be the first in the heavy-duty truck industry. In May, it led the industry growth with a growth rate of 13,500 vehicles and 91% year-on-year. This is also the fifth consecutive month that the liberation heavy trucks have maintained the heavyweight monthly sales champion. This old-fashioned company, in the first half of last year, relied on the rapid product improvement speed and strong product power in the second half of last year. From the fourth quarter of last year to the present, it is called "the brave", and the peers are quite "envy and hate."
Dongfeng and China National Heavy Duty Truck continued to rank second and third without any suspense. In May, sales of heavy trucks were 12,500 and 11,000 vehicles, up 6% and 11% respectively. Shaanxi Automobile and Futian sold 8,500 vehicles and 7,200 vehicles respectively, of which Shaanxi Automobile increased by 17%, and Futian was basically flat. Jianghuai ranked sixth with 4,500 units, up 110% year-on-year. Its export situation in the first half of this year was good; Dayun heavy trucks sold 1,808 units in May, up 32% year-on-year; SAIC Hongyan continued to show recovery growth with monthly sales of 1,676 units. It increased by 86% year-on-year. Valin and Beiben fell 17% and 15% respectively in May, with sales of 1,350 and 800 vehicles.
In the first five months of this year, FAW heavy trucks accumulated sales of 58,400 units, a year-on-year increase of 63%, far exceeding the industry average growth rate, with a market share of 20.9%; Dongfeng heavy trucks fell 3% to 53,600 units, maintaining a second, with a share of 19.1%. China National Heavy Duty Truck Co., Ltd. grew slightly by 4% to 47,200 units, ranking first in the top three, with a share of 16.8%. The fourth place Shaanxi Automobile and the fifth Futian respectively sold 39,400 units and 32,300 units, a year-on-year increase of 14% and 0% (flat year-on-year), with market shares of 14.1% and 11.5% respectively.
The sixth-ranked Jianghuai heavy truck, which is “not beatenâ€, sold 18,700 vehicles in the first five months of this year, up 32% year-on-year, with a market share of 6.7%. The total sales of heavy trucks was 7,604, a year-on-year increase of 26%, and the market share was 2.7%. The cumulative sales of SAIC Hongyan was 6,483, a year-on-year increase of 66%. The growth rate remained the first in the industry, with a market share of 2.3%; Hualing Heavy Truck accumulated sales of 5417. Vehicles, down 28% year-on-year; Beiben cumulative sales of heavy trucks 3880 vehicles in January-May, a slight decrease of 9%.
