The average household appliance company's capacity is less than 60,000 tons, and its output is less than 40,000 tons. It is necessary to solve the small and scattered problem of the calcium carbide industry through large-scale production. After the use of a large enclosed calcium carbide furnace, the tail gas can be comprehensively utilized to produce chemical products. In recent years, the calcium carbide industry has stepped up its efforts to eliminate backward production capacity. By the end of 2009, it has cumulatively eliminated 2.31 million tons of backward production capacity, exceeding the target of the “Eleventh Five-Year Planâ€. On August 8, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the list of enterprises that eliminated the backward production capacity of the calcium carbide industry, which involved 794,700 tons of production capacity of 39 companies. If we add the production capacity that we have eliminated, we will eliminate more than 1 million tons of backward production capacity in the calcium carbide industry this year. This will further promote the overall technical level of the calcium carbide industry and help reduce the overall energy consumption.
