Dunlop Introduces 4D Nanotechnology at Tokyo Motor Show to Improve Tire Performance
At the upcoming 44th Tokyo International Motor Show , Sumitomo Rubber Industries will showcase its newly developed "4D nano-design" material technology. This advanced technology will be the first to be applied to Sumitomo's Frisch and Dunlop tire brands.
Dunlop Introduces 4D Nanotechnology at Tokyo Motor Show to Improve Tire Performance
Sumitomo Rubber began developing this new material technology in 2012. In Europe, it has used the sub-brand Fly tires to perform several basic performance tests and has made relevant improvements through its use in the Ecorun brand. In Japan, Sumitomo has entered applications and tests on Dunlop tires.
It is understood that this new technology was developed from Sumitomo Rubber's previously developed similar technology. The original technology was to use the company's unique simulation technology to predict and control the structure and properties of rubber materials to achieve high-precision material design at the nano level.
Sumitomo Rubber will use the materials developed by this technology in succession to tire products in order to improve the grip performance and low fuel consumption performance of the tires while improving the wear resistance of the tires.
