The wind power station will operate for at least 25 years. It is located near the island of Sarnit in the North Sea in the UK and is about 12 kilometers away from the coast. 100 wind turbines with a height of 115 meters are installed in an area of ​​35 square kilometers, with an installed capacity. It is 300 megawatts and can provide electricity for 200,000 households.

Maria McCurry, CEO of the British Renewable Energy Association, said that this is a milestone for the British wind power industry and even the renewable energy industry. Due to the rapid development of wind power, the proportion of renewable energy in the UK's power structure has risen from about 2% in 2002 to about 10% now. At this rate of development, the UK’s goal of achieving 30% of electricity from renewable sources by 2020 is achievable.
